Organic Buckwheat is a very nutritious groats / seeds from rhubarb family. High in protein, B vitamins, thiamine and riboflavin; the minerals calcium, phosphorus and potassium; and rutin (vitamin P) – a bioflavonoid valuable for the circulatory system and an antidote to radiation. Subtle nutty flavour.
Buckwheat can be ground into flour or cooked whole, used as an alternative to rice, an addition to pancakes and waffles or made into porridge.

Before cooking, buckwheat must be thoroughly rinsed under running water before cooking and any dirt or debris removed, then add one part buckwheat to two parts boiling water or broth. Bring to the boil then turn down the heat, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Suggestions: use in soups, as porridge, in place of rice or pasta, grinding flour, sprouting.
